Looking ahead to Barnard's 120th Commencement ceremony on Monday, May
14, 2012, it is our pleasure to announce this year's distinguished
speaker and medalists. We are honored that Jill Abramson, Executive Editor of The New York Times, will deliver the keynote address and receive the Barnard Medal of Distinction. Joining her on the platform are Helene D. Gayle '76, President and CEO of CARE USA; Evan Wolfson, Founder and President of Freedom to Marry; and Sally Chapman, beloved Barnard Professor of Chemistry, all three of whom will also be receiving the College's highest honor.
More information and further updates will be posted on the Commencement website as the date approaches: www.barnard.edu/commencement.
We are looking forward to celebrating the spectacular achievements of the Barnard Class of 2012 on May 14th on Columbia University's South Lawn.
